Well once again ended up on my own. One guy won't go in the morning and the other guy doesn't have Saturdays off. Since Tomorrow is Mothers Day. Had to get out today.
Got lost trying to find Wilkensen, but knew what direction it was so no biggy. Stopped and gassed up then hit the road out to carbon river. Couldn't believe all the people camping along side the road. Went across the bridge and started heading up. Passed to guys on motorcycles coming down. Pulled over for the hell of it and take a pic.

Took this one cause I heard the jeep come down the road. He stopped asking if I knew some lake, not a clue. He also said snow line was about a mile up the road. Shit, just got started and already running into snow. O'well kept going and, hit the snow, then turned around and tried another road.

**For those thinking about heading out this way.
There was some sign about a hypithetical gate that may have been closed and locked. I don't know anything about that. I was lost and took this road and that road and somehow got to the other side of it. At least that is my store, more about that later.
Anyway, had to cross a few washouts. I figgen need to learn to not pick my way through, just commit and go. Took a little tumble for no other reason. No pics because....I don't know why.
Took a side road and came to a little bridge. Took pics of both sides as I was in the middle. The water looked very inviting, but you just know it's freezing.

Kept riding and following any side roads. They always petered out into a clearing. Guess it was for logging purposes. Kind of funny how these clearing always has a fire pit too.

Road that I had just come down

Stopped at this dead end and was trying to get my bearings. I think you can see the road at the bottom that I thought I needed to get back down too. Thinking back, i don't think I made it back down that far. Think I stayed up on the ridge for awhile.

I peed on this little tree. Picture doesn't do it justice. It's just a panaramic ledge looking down at the river. It was like peeing in a wide open area that anybody could see. (Sorry, I'm just a little messed up that way.)

Turned around and saw a bird just soaring on the air currents. Could have been a hawk, eagle, hell i don't know, maybe a crow. It was cool though. ( i don't think you can see a bird in the picture, stupid camera.

In this area if a road looks little used it probalby is a dead end. Can't believe I was trying them all. For fun I guess. You get tired of the sapling slapping you in the head thou.

Couple of ramdom pics

Bombing down the road came around a corner and saw a few trees leaning acrossed the road. Just had to get a picture of that.

Next hit a little incline going down. Slicker then snot shit with my knobbies worn away. Doesn't look like much, must have been all the leaves and moss and shit.

About 30 feet after stopping for that picture came to this and had to turn around. Road washout and a boulder in the way.

After all those fun little sidetrips I finally made it back to a main road. I was about halway through a tank of gas (not counting the reserve) and thought I could either turn around and find my way back, or just keep following the river and hopefully it comes out somewhere the other end like Jason was saying, i think. So I decided to just keep going for awhile bombing down the road. Came apon this. Took my awhile to figure out it was probably for grading the road.

Kept going for awhile and took one more side road because i wasn't really sure if I had been on the road I was or not. The road started getting overgrown when I came across a guy and his kid mountain biking. I stopped and turned off the bike. They pulled up and looked at me like I was crazy. Asked him if this road deadends. He said yeah kind of. It turns into a trail that they had come up. Then I asked him how to get out of the area. Especially if the main road goes somewhere. He was nice enough to pull out a map and show where we were. Didn't have a clue. I wasn't even close to where I thought I was. (I'm thinking he didn't know where he was is more like it.) Said that the main road does come out to a town but there is a gate and not sure if I could get around it or not. The more he thinks about it, He's not even sure how I ended up in the area since everthing should be gated off. This is where my "I don't know what happened, took a road to another, found a bunch of dead ends, and next thing you know I'm lost" comes into play. Seemed to work a little. So the guy doesn't think I can go the way they had come because it was a steep trail down and the like. Told him thank you very much for your help and have a great day. I would follow this road to the trail and then decide whether to turn around and follow the main road or just go back the way I had come.
Maybe he had said take a left, but I kept going straight. Getting whapped in the face left and right. Finally said, screw this I'm turning around when I saw the trail he was talking about. Walked down it about 10 feet and decide I would give it a try. Actually no biggy.

{THIS PICTURE DELETED BECAUSE IT WAS BLURRY AND GAVE ME A HEADACHE JUST LOOKING AT IT. Was a cool shot of the trail thou}
The trail was actually fun and branched off a few times. I started following one when I notice a bunch of drainage pipes following parts of the trail. That's when I decided I really shouldn't be here. Even though it looked like a quad had been here before, must have been a hiking/biking trail, not meant for motor vehicles at all. So went back down and around the gate and I was out. Stopped to take a break at a water shed or something.

Found another little quad trail off to the side. If my tires weren't almost bald I might have tried it. Looked like it got fun right after the enterance. Who knows how far it goes though.

Last pic is of my Rockstar. Hard to tell, but there is a couple of creases in it all the way around. Must have happened on my little tumble. Surprised it didn't bust open.

*I was trying to find a map so I could show at least the starting point and ending point, just can't find a decent one. So If you are familiur with the area. I started by going acrossed the famous bridge, you know the one, where everyone goes. The ending point was about 2 miles outside Wilkensen on road....whatever the road is out to the bridge. (man i suck, sorry)
