Just a quick review of the OGIO flight vest. I previously ran a standard hydration pack and a large fanny pack loaded with tools. I can tell you, that everything that I used to carry in those two bags fit in the vest with no problem. There is a tremendous amount of storage in it. Off the top of my head, this is what is in there; 2 tubes, Co2 canister, tire irons, wrenches, tape, registration, Leatherman, digital camera, batteries for GPS and video, and I swapped in my 100 oz. hydration bladder. ...

It's been 2 weeks since I've ridden. I've kicked the dog, stepped on the cat, beat up my son, killed my wife.....LOL, ok riding isn't like meth, crack or whatever the druggies are doing. Good during the week when I'm busy working, but the weekend just kills me not riding. All problems minor, major, and everything inbetween, the first thing I think of is.... "crap, this is going to set my riding back." ...

Decided to do some of the usual maintenance items today.

The tear down begins with tank & seat removal. Cleaned some dirt and crude off first, more to clean while it's apart. I then adjusted the valves, added a new spark plug, cleaned the air filter and cleaned out the gas tank. I can see the dirt being in the tank, but weeds too.....really?

Next up....Sub frame removal to get the rear shock out for servicing and a new 11.0 kg Eibach spring.

And, they're super light weight titanium. A bit expensive at $30 each, but not any more than buying all the tools separately.

The biggest thing was to make the bike street legal again. My mud flap/turn signal/license plate bracket broke again. The first time I fixed it with just some good 2part 90min epoxy. Worked for a couple of months but never really bonded with the plastic. This time I decided to put some wire in it. Hopefully ...

We both raced to his house, arriving shortly before the ambulance. The paramedics did their assessment, and scooped her up and took her to the ER. They would not let me in to the ER, so my brother was texting me from inside. The doctors were so worried about her condition, that within 15 minutes of arriving at the hospital, ...

I am planning on going, and was wondering if any other intrepid explorers were thinking of doing the same? Never ridden on a proper track before, just trails and fire roads. I have been out of riding for a couple months with a hand injury, so this will probably be a mellow run for me. Just going for the fun of it.
Anyone have comments or insite about a DRZ400? I owned a KLR650 but got rid of it. My problem with it was, too heavy for trails and viburated like a 25c motel bed on road trips. I did like the fact that it had a lot of after market support. Seems like a DRZ400 is a smaller version, lighter and less vibs on the road. The KLR was comfortable and the DRZ looks like it's goinng to need a different seat. That's all I got on a DRZ.

It's hard to get tired of the drive out to the OHV Park. Beautiful scenery!

The old Waldron school house.

And my homegrown dinner...............

The weather is perfect, but the typical "dry and dusty" trail conditions.

I hope it rains.
