Hello to everyone! Obviously new to this site and thought I would check in.

I purchased a new KLR 650 back in '00 and rode the wheels off it for several years. Some of the most fun I have ever had, but for some reason, I decided to sell it. Really, it seemed like a good idea at the time. But for the last 6 years, I have really missed riding off road, and recently began a search for a more dirt worthy ride. All enjoyed and really helped easing me back into motorcycle riding. I now have a Kawasaki '0 kl250 Super Sherpa and a '05 klr650. I like these also but can't ...

I think the real reason is I want something that will look better after a crash, not worse. So now I'm shopping for one, as soon ...

I grew up on the west side and worked at a local bike shop in Auburn in the late 80's-early 90's. I was raised in the dirt, primarilly CR500's but injuries and age caught up with me so I am currently switching formats and embracing the Dual sport side of riding.
Here is my Dual sport bike BMW R1200GS

Yeah, I know it's too big to ride on anything but dirt/gravel roads for the most part. I have had it on cow paths though. Member "Stuckinmud" can verify that. Since we got stuck in mud that day

I'm hoping to acquire a used bike on the order of the DRZ400S or something equivalent with permanent knobbies for more adventurous rides.

Alrighty then.

Hi from Columbia Falls Montana, gateway to Glacier National Park (or so they say). Nice to see a regional forum starting up.

I am a 43 yr old who got back into riding two years ago on a XR650R. I like cruising forest roads with an occasional WFO for chits and giggles. With no dedicated Montana forum space I thought I would chime in as many folks head this way for dual sporting. I'll be attending a North Idaho get together this July so will probably get to meet some ...

Hi all
Have enjoyed off road riding for many years and been active in local clubs and state recreation comittee (RCO now).
Moved to Dualsport a few years back and love the freedom it gives us to move from trail system to trail system without being bothered by Mr. Lawman!

Hi all,

I am retired (read old) from 30 years service in a bike shop. I now ride bikes in the summer and snowmobiles in the winter. Living in N Idaho (25 miles from Canada) we have a six month winter so bikes are stored waiting for spring. My wife also is a rider and does a great job of keeping up.

We do have a road bikes but prefer dual sport because there are no f n state cops in the backcountry.

We have ridden the cont divide, Whit Rim trail (and another 1100 dirt mi in Utah), ...
