I know it's been said many times before. I've heard it, read it, said it all before.

It's been 2 weeks since I've ridden. I've kicked the dog, stepped on the cat, beat up my son, killed my wife.....LOL, ok riding isn't like meth, crack or whatever the druggies are doing. Good during the week when I'm busy working, but the weekend just kills me not riding. All problems minor, major, and everything inbetween, the first thing I think of is.... "crap, this is going to set my riding back." ...

You know what would be really helpful for me.....a couple of pictures and then pointers.

Last year had a buddy haul my butt home after a flat. The rear end of the bike scooted out to the side as we started out. Luckily he saw it and pulled over so we could fix it. Really didn't feel comfortable with the way it was strapped, (actually didn't care, just wanted to get it home) would have been nice to know how to securely tie a bike down.

Well I been breaking stuff left and right and I have absolutely $0.00 to spend on the girl. So i figured I would take the hammer to her and see if I couldn't straighten some things out.

The biggest thing was to make the bike street legal again. My mud flap/turn signal/license plate bracket broke again. The first time I fixed it with just some good 2part 90min epoxy. Worked for a couple of months but never really bonded with the plastic. This time I decided to put some wire in it. Hopefully ...

Anyone have comments or insite about a DRZ400? I owned a KLR650 but got rid of it. My problem with it was, too heavy for trails and viburated like a 25c motel bed on road trips. I did like the fact that it had a lot of after market support. Seems like a DRZ400 is a smaller version, lighter and less vibs on the road. The KLR was comfortable and the DRZ looks like it's goinng to need a different seat. That's all I got on a DRZ.

I picked up an '84 xl350r thats going to be my main ride. Got it from the orig. owner and it has doc's for 2800 miles. Needed rotted oem tires replaced, a good cleaning and major servicing. It's in excellent condition and a beautiful example. Because it was only made for 2 years '84&'85, I'm looking for a parts bike or parts. keep me in mind if you run across one. thanks

Just cleaned mine. OMG was it dirty. Couldn't even tell what color it was supposed to be. I went to the MC store to get some oil for it. Wasn't too impressed with the stuff. Was hoping it would be more viscous to soak in to the foam. Looked very tacky. Massaged it in like you are supposed to, hopefully it does the job.

The air box was pretty nasty too. Has a drain that is covered. Guess I now know that if I dunk the bike, will have to manually drain any water that gets caught in ...

Hey.
Any xr650l owners give me your opinion of your rear brakes.
Mine are almost worthless, and I was wondering if you have the same feelings.
I am a big guy (250+).
System has been flushed and has a lot of pad left.
If you made any changes for the better, I would love to hear what you did.

Thanks.

I see o the 650's they have a nifty looking little tool box behind the left rear plate. If someone who has one wouldnt mind I would love to take a closer look at the plate mounting and box mounting to see if they could adapt to a 600R
