Having owned 12 non-Hondas dual sport motorcycles and 2 similar Hondas('84 xr200r, '83 xl250r) in the past 40 years doesn't qualify me as a motorcycle expert. But I know there are lot'sa better motorcycles out there, with many to become highly collectable classic's. So I'm not sure why, but something about this Red Honda just feels and fits right and gets my motor running. This was purchased from original owner too. It is in excellent original condition but 25 years old and is deserving a complete and through nut & bolt servicing. It's now in my garage, mostly stripped down so I can go thru it. It still will not be a perfect dual sport when I get it put back together. But IMHO, it will be, as good as they get. I hope you have the motorcycle that gets your motor running.

Was the XL a duel carb model? Looks like it's in great shape.

This is a dual carb and I understand only offered a couple years because it was to complicated.

I had a XR250 and I loved it. Was a little hard to get it jetted just right but when we did it was great. Just like having a 4 barrel carb.
