Hi, wanted to put in a word for a dual sport rider I know, Stovebolt that makes a great bomb-proof GPS cradle. The material completely surrounds the unit, fitting snug and protecting it. Uses standard ram mount. He even made me a one off custom cradle for my new gen SPOT.
