| bought a set of D606's 3 tire irons, 2 tubes and some rim bands, this is were i wounderd how my day was going to go ! removing wheels from bike was easy, back wheel feel apart when removed, thought i broke it, found out its called a cush drive ! See the 2 pieces, rubber pieces also bounced all over ! i guess this is what a cush frive looks like so i took about 2 hrs of fidle fadling and i got them on, took my time. every thing went smoothly (notice the cool fmf Q4 exaust, put that on yesterday) Sounds good ! here is a better pic and her she is all done, rode a little bit, handles good, need to find some dirt tommarrow. yee haa, this was my x-mas present to my self. and quality time with the bike is always good for one's ego ! | |

| Good work Shane. I always seem to pinch at least one tube when changing tires. I need to slow down when I do it. | |

| i got alot of good tips off of you tube, just type in dirt bike tire mounting, there are a couple real good videos, one factory dunlop guy changed a tire in 3 1/2 minutes from start to finish. ( wheel already off of the bike) made me look slow. used baby powder inside the tire to help the tube from sticking to the new tire, put a little air in tube also. used dish soap for tire lube. used a neibor as my bead buddy ! way better then spending $80 or more at the bike shop for this. | |

| ok, its a little slow at work so i modified my front blinkers for free. took the factory brackets off, rotated them 180 deg, then fliped 180 deg. re-installed everything. blinkers moved up about 2 in, and in about 2 in. they are a little more out of the way and i didnt have to by stubby plinkers ! before ! and after.... free farkles rock ! and they are still flexable, did not have to modify the stock of the blinker at all | |

| Ok,I know this is a old thread, just thought i would give a up date. I got a new rear D606 to replace the old one. I got about 2400 miles out of it. There was a little bit of life in it depending on how low you like to run the thread depth. When removing the old tire, I noticed the tube bonded to the wheel. I heard of the tube bonding with the tire. Took no chances and replaced the tube also. The rim strip still looked ok so i left it alone. When mounting the new tire I also used baby powder on the rim. Maybe this will help the tube from sticking. But all and all, when I was done, it seemed to hold air. I like the 606 and the only complaint is the life, but for a nobbie, I think it does real good. The front still has plenty of meat. The nobbies are starting to peak a little but i think I can get another year out of them. So with this done, I am ready for another year of ridding. | |

| Thanks for the update! Tire threads are must more useful when someone revisits them and actually lets you know how the tires performed!
How do you like the FMF? | |

How do you like the FMF? The FMF pipe is great. Has good tones but is not to loud. Plus was 1/2 the weight of the stocker. I got mine on sale in the winter last year when FMF was haveing a 20% off sale. they usualy run that sale in the winter months. I noticed they had it again this year. It is a very popular pipe for the DR's. - RENO wrote:

| OK, here is another tire up date. The 606 on the front is ready to be replaced. I got about 3700 miles out of it. I do like the 606's but a little bit spendy. I found a T63 for the front for $67.00 shiped. So i decidded to try it. I am hopeing it will last a bit longer, we will see. I hope I didnt make a mistake. I do like the way it handles so far. Noise is about the same on the pavement. | |

| OK. I am revisiting this old thead of mine again. Yep, wore out another D606 and was time for a new tire.I got another 2400 miles out of this rear again. With my wallet being thin I went with a Kenda K270. I mounted it up and took it for a spin and put a brown stain in my pants. This tire is super greasy feeling on the pavement, I hope it just needs to be broke in. My 606 felt funny when it was new but never gave me the pucker factor like this tire did when I rounded a few corners. It doesnt feel stable. Has anyone ran this tire before, and if so, does this feeling go away. I only have a few miles on it and will try to put more on it tomorrow. I hope I didnt make a mistake by getting this kenda. I like the tread pattern and hope with the pavement pounding I have been doing that it holds up better, I will see. ( I think I am going to miss the 606) I looked at he T63 and the Kenda Big block tires too, but they were sold out of them or on back order when I orderd this one. But at $55.00 plus shiping, I will see how it works. | |

| Bummer to save all that money on the Kenda vs. the 606 only to be spending it on extra laundering costs. Troy341 - Shane wrote:

| Shane, I have been running that Kenda for 2 years, and the feeling doesn't go away. I bought 3 for a little over $40 each to get the free shipping from Rocky Mountain 2 years ago. The front is OK, the rear is squirrelly around corners, and not real excited about wear. I got 1600 miles out of the first rear, and have about 1300 miles on the one now. It will probably go to 1800-2000.
Oh, I have new T63's waiting to go on...

| Well, it sounds like it will wear out quick..... I didnt hear any stability complaints when I was resurching it. It got good reviews. The T63 is what I wanted. I am sure I will get use to it. | |

You get used to it. I think it might actually be the knobs flexxing more than sliding. It is a really soft tire. I have been hard on the throttle, so my tire life is shorter than normal I would guess. A buddy got a lot more miles on his KLR than I got on the Husky. And I actually like it in the dirt because it is a soft tire, it seems grippy, almost like a trilas tire.

| OK, I have about 60 miles on it now, and it does feel a little better. I can live with it I think. Need more time in the dirt, which will happen this weekend on the dirty face ride ! I also think it is do to how soft the tire is. lots of flex. | |

| I also had the Kendas on my DR650 and hated them to begin with when on the pavement. The bike would oversteer and fall into a corner. However, it either got better in time or I just got used to it.

| Guy I road with at Dirty face just had his XR Dual-sported up by Coyote. Had those tires. He liked them. (Or course he has never DS'ed before, but he is definitely not new to dirt riding) | |
