| I think I have found some great chain lube. I was using Maxima Chain Wax and it was leaving quite a build up on the sprockets and outside of the chain links. I was skeptical how well it was penetrating into the pins. My cousin told me of a product by Bel Ray. It's called Super Clean chain lube. The lube penetrates and tacks up after 10-15 and will not sling off. My uncle is using it on his VX700 and loves it. Have any of you tried it? It has to be better than using 90 weight oil like my XR manual says to use.

| I haven't tried the Bel Ray, but I have had good luck with this. It costs 5 bucks a can at Lowe's. (Watch the label color, because DuPont has 2 or 3 kinds.) It goes on thin, then sets up. It is clean, and doesn't fling off. Here is my hub after a 300 mi. ride on a freshly lubed chain. It is good on cables and levers too, or on just about anything you want lubed, but not oily. It will run the full length of a cable and out the other end before it sets up. And, it doesn't get gummy, or collect dirt- it just makes things slick. I have been using it for 2 or 3 years now. | |

| I used to use the Belray Super Clean also, but switched to the Dupont Mult-Use as above, about a year ago, when I read about it in a big chain lube comparison in, I think, Motorcycle Consumer News. It ranked number 1 in all their testing! | |

| I'm just about out of my lube. Will be switching to the DuPont stuff next. Just have to remember to get/find some before I run out. | |

| I just picked up a can of Dupont at Walmart. I never saw it there before. It is in the motorcycle section. | |

| Looks like they came out with something just for chains???? Orange can? Looking into it now cause im out of lube.
Damnit. looks like i bought the wrong stuff. There IS a difference between the chain saver and the "Teflon Silicone" lube.

| The stuff I got was really light weight. That's OK, I like to put it on heavy anyway and I'll use it before or after every ride anyway.
Sold at Ace Hardware...the one i went to didn't have any Lowes...Had two of the 5 different kinds. Didn't have the Chain saver.
*The two that I looked at both said "O-Ring safe"
EDIT Crappity-smackity...The stuff I got is just a silicone lubricant.

| Sorry for taking this thread over. I can start my own if you would like.
The saga continues.
Looked all over online for a seller of the chain stuff. Nobody close has it. I stopped looking about 30miles out. Anyway, I wrote Dupont an email with a nice complaint and a please help. Just received an automated "Out of office from blah, blah to blah, blah" here is my phone number incase of emergency etc... from a guy at finishlineusa.com I am so confused!!!! Well they do have a product with teflon in it. Since teflon is a registered thing I am assuming that the product that finishlineusa has is the same thing. The closest store is about 30miles away...LOL

| Walmart you say? I'll send my wife out right away!
*Just checked my email. From Bill Coleman: LOLLOLOLOLOLOL
Hi Kevin,
Please see the attached list of Walmart locations which are beginning to stock Chain-Saver and Degreaser. Just because the sheet says “in stock” does not mean the product is on shelf yet. Only about 20% of the stores that are supposed to be carrying the products have it available on shelf. Eventually, they will all be in stock.
