Took off around noon on friday, mid 60s, clear skys, little to no wind....... pretty good day for the Tri-Cities

Bought a 2009 BMW F800GS a few weeks a go and i figured it was time to put some miles on it.

I rode up on to the Horse Heven hills and took this picture of the Columbia River, Oregon on the other side of river.

Rode south of Hermiston Or. on some nice gravel rodes.

Found a rode that sent me through a farm of poplar trees.

The hill in the distance is Battle MT. and my goal is to get as close as possable.

Rode another 15 to 20 miles more and then the day went to hell !
Picked up a nail in the rear tire. the only good thing is it happened right in front of a ranch.
The rancher came over to see if he could give a hand, but i left home with no tools, no spare tube, nothing.........So he let me put the Beemer in his Barn and
luckly his dad was there and he lives in Pasco and i got a ride home. Next day i drove the truck down and picked it up.
Northern Oregon is a great place to ride in with a lot of places to explore.

Looks like you had a good ride. I grew up in Heppner OR. Looks like several of the pictures you took were on the Dougherty ranch where I spent many a day on my motorcycle as a kid.

Sounds fun until the flat tire, but that's part of what makes something an adventure.

I would say between the three of us who have the F800 we should put together something for flat repair.

Hey craig you were lucky to get the flat! Just think how hard it would be to pull that big bike out of a snow drift!!
