Aug Alvord Desert Trip - New date finalized!

Ok our first two trips we planned this summer to the Alvord Desert had to get delayed due to a late spring and the Alvord being full of water. We have re-set the dates to Aug 6th - 12th....it will be dry by then!

Feel free to join in on the fun...camp on the Alvord DRY lake bed and enjoy some great riding!

So talking to my buddy Craig last night and we were throwing around the idea of a single or multiple over night trip out from base camp. Maybe head south a bit and find the crashed B24 bomber and ride a little in the high country north of soldier meadows (where the bulldozer resides). Sound good? Does everyone going have a way to carry over night gear on their bikes if we were to make a overnight trip? I guess some could go and some could hang around on the lake bed also...just going through options for the trip.

Ok...so the plan is to head down to the lake bed on the 6th, ride the surrounding area (local hot springs, abandoned mines etc) on the 7th and then on the 8th head out for a three day trip camping off the bikes (there will be people staying at the base camp as well so if your not into traveling on the bike that's another option). We plan on carrying camping gear on the bikes and heading south into NV, locate the crashed bomber, camp at Soldier meadows hot springs one night, and explore/ride as much as possible. We will return to the lake bed on the 11th to finish out the trip with a nice soak in the Alvord hot springs
