LEAVENWORTH - Where to ride? Beginner, 2010 KTM 530 EXC

Put about 70 miles on the bike, practicing around the neighborhood, getting familiar with a TALL bike and got all the proper gear.
I've done a lot of track days at Pacific Raceways, but this is a whole new deal

Next Friday a family and I are going to Leavenworth WA for my first offroad ride.

Question is: Where to go?

Leavenworth...Hwy 2...Left on Main at Peshastin...Right on Derby Rd....Left on Derby Canyon...Ride and have fun.

THat looks great - thanks for the help! Is it a decent trail that an early beginner can handle ie fire road?

That's it. NOt a trail though. It's all dirt roads. Pretty beat up too but fun. Feel free to explore some of the trails off to the side of the roads also. You could be up there for days poking around.

I'm sure there is stuff right outside of Leavenworth too but I don't know the area at all.
Make sure you take pictures.

*edit...I see you can take chumstick...I think we did that, can't remember. It's all fun stuff for exploring!

Yeah jumped right into the freaking deep end - with the KTM beastie, years of bucycle riding and mountain biking ought to help

I am on vacation next friday. If I can get a front tire by then and can get it by the wife, I might be able to show you around. There is alot of ridding around the leavenworth/Peshastin/Cashmere/Entiat area. All conected by fire roads and trails. Stop by a ranger station and get the free map for all the trails around here. They are marked from easy to difficult to most difficult. I know there are other members on here from the area that might be able to help also. There is a lot of ridding. Goose creek in lake wenatchee is also great for trail ridding and fire roads also.

Derby canyon is fine for going solo...but If you can get someone else to go (especially leading you around) hit some trails instead.
