**** August 2008 ****
The actual riding starts out from my buddy Phil's house in Kennewick, WA. Not too many pics on the way up, pushing hard to get up to the cabin.
~85 miles north on 395, then a gas stop & a burger at Zips in Ritzville, WA
Another 25 miles and getting rained on, so another quick rest stop at Sprague Lake. Chat with an old dude about his days on the Ol' Triumph.....
Back on the road, North bound to Spokane.......

Continuation of the first days ride....
So, I boogie up 395 to Spokane and go straight up the gut on Division Street to Hwy 2.
Then continue North on Hwy 2 through the little towns of Colbert & Chattaroy, then East to Newport and cross over into Old Town, Idaho.
Another 5 miles and I gas up in Priest River and cross over the river to the final section of slab to the cabin. That's the town of Priest River, ID in the background below.
I bomb up the gravel road and I know I'm getting close, there's Jewel Lake.
At this point, I'm almost to my destination. Only a couple more miles to go.
Finally made it to the cabin. A very welcome sight!
After a long ride, here's another familar resting spot. Zip's has worked it's magic....
Time for some rest & relaxation, but it's really hot up here. Mid-90's.
I'm ready to head back down to Jewel Lake to cool off....
And, to do some fishing in that spot pictured above....
Those fish we very tasty!
228 miles of hot, dry slab riding.
More to follow....

Time for some riding. These 2 young dudes pretty much rode non stop.
Are you ready, can we go yet, how about now?
Scoping out the views...
Some great vistas from up high... Priest River down below.
Clint's is trying hard to find the trail that will get us to the top...
Judd & his CRF250X...I rode it and it felt like a Mtn. Bike compared to the BRP
More of the sweet goodness.....beautiful county up here!
It's getting late on the first day of riding, only about 50 miles, but some really good stuff.

Another day...
I narrowly ate it on this muddy, little crossing...Clint plows trough on the DRZ.
Some tighter, game trail single track through the trees.
Clint & Chase
Very cool spot, had to climb some big granite boulders to get up here. Nice place to hang out for a while!
The logging roads were pretty dry & dusty, but a little bit of rain helped knock it down some.
More tight, steep single track to get up here.
The Fulfer Knuckleheads.

I thought that looked liked Gary...I hadn't read the caption above yet. We played guitar together (I was just getting started & stunk) back in day. I remember when Gary & Randy J. both had long hair and would go jogging together. Dudes driving up from behind would honk at the pretty girls.

Yep, that's Gary. He's living in the North Idaho Mountains and playing gigs for a living. (Mostly in Spokane, Sandpoint & Coeur d'Alene) His wife works at Schweitzer, so he spends a lot of time up there in the Winter.
That's his Brother Clint and nephew Chase in the pic.
I take a week long trip up there to see him every August.

Most of the last day was spent fishing on Jewel Lake. Probably caught 30 Perch, a few bluegills and crappies and 1 nice Rainbow.
But the highlight of the whole trip was what we rolled up on during the last evening ride.
Mama & the twin babies
We watched her for about 30 minutes and then she finally just bedded down right on the trail.
She kept looking down the draw on the other side of the tree line. I think she was waiting for the evening rendevous with the big Bull.
