XR250 280cc kit

I am getting the bigger piston and cylinder that will bump '89 XR250 up to 280CC. Has anyone else done this? I am considering dropping some teeth on my sprockets, because I am told the added displacement really bumps up the low end. If I can do it, the new gearing will make riding on the road a lot more pleasant. Any insight at all from anyone who has done it would be appreciated.

I put a stroker crank from Powroll in a 1990 XR ,bored it 60 over and changed the carb. Made it a tractor. I would still have it if I could have got it plated.

Thanks for the encouragement guys! I am so excited to get this thing back in the dirt. Now I have to deal with the anticipation until the mechanic is done with it.
