| I worked for a mining company back in the early 80's in the area of Elk City, Idaho. I worked with my little brother, my cousin, and a couple other great folks. It was a very memorable time of my life. It was the timeframe when I met my wonderful wife, and made a ton of great memories working and riding in the boonies. Each year I meet my bro, my cousin, and lately, our kids up in the same area. We spend4 to 7 days (never enough) up there. All we do is ride and shoot. It is a week we look forward to with great anticipation every year. I bring my ATV, while my bro and cousin bring bikes....typically older stuff. Here are a couple pics from over the years; The "hangin' rock". Just short of Golden, Idaho; Looking southeast from the top of Pilot Knob; My trusty Honda. She just turned over 8000 miles the other day.. I know it pretty well. There are umpteen miles of trails just like this one up there; Looking back (south) at Pilot Knob/Pilot Rock from the Elk City Wagon road. One of the few complete mills still standing. This one is at Old Golden. Did I mention we shoot some? | |

| The creek right next to our camp A person could get into this adit.... but it wouldn't be real prudent. Lots of old decaying cabins..if you know where to look My cousins vintage dualsport fleet; The mill we all used to work on back in the day.. Bridge out? Heck... just go around it. Not much in the way of trade in value here... This..... is tanerite. It goes boom. | |

| My little girl crossing a small stream. More trails.. My little sweetie again.. this time on the way into Buffalo Hump. We're right at 6800 feet here. The "Code of the West" The Elk City Wagon road again. We pulled over 100,000 tons of ore from this hole My brother and I opened this one back up in '83. A couple months later, we were chased out by a cow moose...(long before the big culvert was placed) hard to believe, but I collected a bunch of those samples ... Can't wait till next year! | |

| Very Cool.
Thanks for sharing. I have never made it over that way. Looks like it will be added to my dualsport bucket list of places to hit.

| If this were to happen..
How many miles per day do you guys typically run? Most of the good rides are not technical.. they're all on good jeep roads, dirt/gravel stuff.

| Hodakaguy could probably chime in on this one with better information, but I know they can do a couple hundred a day on the Nevada trip. I don't care how many miles. I even do laps on the same stretch just to get out!!! | |

I rode about 28miles yesterday and I'm sore today! *the more people the slower. I"m guessing less than 100miles...especially if you throw in a mine or somethin to esplore
