Boots

It's time for a new pair.


They have been good boots. Enough so I am contemplating just ordering the same, but am wondering/thinking about upgrading. The boots I've been looking at are

Alpinestars tech 3 There are 2 different sole styles though and am not sure which.

Gaerne GX-1 Never tried Gaerne's on

Fox Comp 5 construction looks a little on the cheap side.

sidi's are out...too expensive and never have fit me right.

Oh No! A dedicated boot thread. All the Christmas specials are over. I try to buy my big purchase items right before Christmas. Maybe Atomic Moto still has a offer going.

Alpinestars will rebuild your boots (replace soles, fix/replace straps and buckles and/or toe plate/screws) for like $80 and send you a loaner pair if you need them! My understanding is the round-toed soles are more for ATV use, but I'm not sure why that is.

The Gaerne sg-12s are the only pair I know anything about, but a few friends of mine that have Gaerne boots say they are really comfortable and like them a lot.

Fox boots never break in correctly for me and fell apart faster than the cheap ARC boots I bought one time. Not worth the money and I'll probably never buy another pair. I'm not even that hard on stuff!

You might look at Sidi's or 661s too. I've heard good things about both those companies.

Ordered up the Gaerne's yesterday. They have already showed up
