My 2011 450 exc has 15 45 gearing, i want to use the stock chain so im thinking 14. 49 but im not sure if i can use the stock chain with those sizes. I could go 13 49 but that seem to low for the road, but not sure....any advise?

I run 13/50 on my 530 for off road and when Im going to spend some time moving out Dual sporting I switch over to 14/52. The 14/52 seems like a good all around gearing.

13/52. Had to get a new chain and massage the chain guide to work. I am not on the road that much. I made the chain just the right length so I can run 12 to 15 front and a 50 to 52 rear without any problems.

When reducing the size of the countershaft sprocket from OEM, usually equates to excessive wear on the chain slider on the majority of bikes, just an FYI.

I have been watching my 13 front closely and have had no problems. It may help that I have the largest rear sprocket 52 to help with the chain angle.
