Went for a new years cruise up in the hills with my buddy Dave (Mr Cob)
to get there it starts off as an old trail that goes down and crosses a creek. I used to be able to get my broncoII down here years ago. Too washed out and overgrown now.
steamy
hitting the logging roads. Time to chain up
The snow got fairly deep rather quickly. Fortunately there was a very hard thick crust about 3" down.
Dave was on his TW200 with it's massive quad size tires. He floated really well.
Me... well lets just say I was using all 450ccs I had available to stay on top :D
I was able to float if I kept it in 2nd-3rd gear pinned, 15-30mph. Some sections had a better crust and I could just putz along. If I stopped it was an ordeal to get going again as my back tire would want to dig.. I had to paddle it along until I got into 2nd gear.
Highmarking further up on a hill.. he won
I hadn't hit bottom here.. I could have kept digging to china :D

Snow was about 18-22" deep on the road
Back down lower
As the day went on the warmth started to soften the snow and gave me trouble. Had to turn around here and head back... started digging really bad.
Playing around
50hp.. all used up :D
Headed back over and made a loop on a different lower hill... Rainier in the background
