Had a late start today. After helping a friend move all day yesterday, a little sore. Left the house around 1100 for Galena. Hit road construction on Index-Galena RD. Right before the construction, saw a sign that said "Road ends in 5miles". So I stopped at the very cute flagger girl and ask her. She said that she didn't know how far you could go. Well I found out the reason for the road closure. Here are just a bunch of pics of that.
Rode across the first part then walked a ways down to see if it was worth continueing. Couldn't see the end of the water so turned around.
Was very disappointed about the outcome of the ride. On the way back spotted a side road that since I had nothing to do, decided to take. Thought maybe I could get around the washout that way. Come to a Y just a few hundred feet in. I do NOT suggest taking the high road. Kicked my ASS.
A little damage.
I think this is where I finally had enough and turned around. With being soar and just plum worn out by the road, finally turned around. Like I said, it just kicked my ass. Way easier going down.
On the way down saw a few of these

So when I got back to the Y, even thou I was dead tired, decided to try that one. Looked a little easier. Stopped here and thought, "what the hell is this place and where am I?"
Also passed by a bunch of little campsites it looked like
Came to this little bridge. Ended up having to turn around. Cool bridge thou.
Too bad this road had to end. Was very fun. Wanted it to continue on more.
Turned around and went back. Had one road left to try. This one turned out to be a dead end just a few hundred feet in.
Looks like at one time there was a bridge here.
Ended up hopping across some of the rocks. Dunking my head into the water to cool down. Pretty damn cold. Felt good.
Headed home. On the way back noticed that road NFS 62 was open. Need to check out where that goes on a map. Also need to find out what this South Fork thing is. Wasn't I right next to it?
*Took highbridge on the way home. Fun-Fun.
