How do I turn off auto-subscribe

Still having fun, but how do I turn off the auto subscribe? Every time I make a post the forum automatically subscribes me to the thread I posted in.

Don't get me wrong, I like reading all the hooliganism (is that a word?) but I don't want my email inbox filling up nor do I want to subscribe just because I made a quick post.

I like to subscribe to what I choose vs. the auto thingy.

Ideas?

Go to profile, then preferences, then change the Always notify me of replies to no.
