Yer speaking my language now. I think it was that new channel called "Speedvision" back in '96 that started me thinking about a rally style bike in the garage. I used to follow the WRC and then caught my first taping of the Dakar. The '99 KTM Adventure with its blue fairing, smoked windscreen and hot performance were as close as I could get to a Rallye 660. Although I can say I actually saw a 660 Rallye in a showroom in Roseville Ca. before they stopped bringing them in.

I sure enjoyed watching Jonah Street race this year! We need more rally sports coverage over here...

For the sake of the racers and the sport I hope they make a displacement decision soon for rally bikes. That 690 looks awesome, I wonder why it is not as popular as the half liter KTM's?

I talked and rode with Steve at the Black Dog who had a bike very similar to this one.

No kit or replica, but a 'real deal' 690 Rally bike.

His 690 was pure white with no graphics.

I just dont get the whole gigantic headlight assembly wing thing on the front.. that doesn't turn with the handlebars... what is the point? it looks like it would get in the way and block your sight on trails, not to mention not being able to see crap when you turn lol
