Who knows Triumph?

So I ran across a 1963 Triumph Trophy 500 owned by this old dude in my antique car club. He said he has it partially restored, has the title, and extra parts. He would part with it for $1000 or partial trade for guns, car parts, what have you. Also, part of the deal would be to replace the shift shaft on his honda 90, easy... So I told my future father in law aboot it, and he's totally game. We have the car parts and guns to trade and knock off some cash so I think we're gonna pick this beast up.

The old dude told me that when he installed the engine in the frame it moved freely. He put on a side cover, i'm thinking clutch cover, and it bound up. Anyone know what this might be?
