Kennewick is Using ROCK SALT on our roads

Kennewick has decided to start using Rock Salts on our roads instead of
sand. They claim it will be cheaper since they don't have to clean up
the sand, they have purchased 500 TONS of salt! While it may be cheaper
for the city we will all pay more in the cost of rusted out vehicles
and increased vehicle maintenance. If anyone has lived back east where
they use rock salt you've seen where a vehicle only a few years old will
already start showing rust coming through the paint etc. Older
vehicles won't last near as long before they start rusting out. It will
De-value your vehicle in a hurry. Pasco is going to start using salt
on a limited basis....Kenenwick said since it's cheap they plan on
putting more down than normal and expanding it onto side roads etc.

Please write a letter to the editor, letter to the city or call the city
and voice your opinion. If enough people complain about the idea of
using salt we may be able to change it. Pass this on to as many people
as you can!
