Adventure ride to Bickleton WA 3-28-10

Hodakaguy and i are planning a ride from the Tri-cities to Bickleton on sunday 3-28-10.
I rode the route on 3-19 with Allen and had a good time seeing the open wheat fields and
deep canyons of the Horse Heven hills. Theres alot of old buildings and old water pumping wind mills along the way to see. We found one canyon called Alder Creek canyon that was
quit interisting and one could spend some time there exploring around. So if you have a bike that can travel around 200 miles, becouse there no gas in Bickleton, you more then willcome
to join us. For you guys with bigger bikes [ 990s, BMW....] your bikes should have no troubles. this trip is about 20% pavement, 60% gravel, 20% two track. We can pack a lunch or buy lunch in Bickleton.........bring CASH. Hope to see you on Sunday.

where the hell is bickleton??? north, south,east,west??? 990 friendy have to see how work goes this week.

Bickleton is south of Yakima, between Mapton and Goldendale on Hwy 241.

It was a great ride on Friday, Craig and I are not much into the camera picture taking thing, but it truly is some unique country. In the Alder creek area there is a bunch of long horned steers, I think Tom needs some horns mounted on that new head light. Wish I could make it Sunday, but have other obligations. Lots of stuff to explore, Craig and I did the round trip in about 6 hours, but with Tom the miner/explorer/photographer I would plan on it being an 8 hour trip. The wild flowers should be in full bloom by next week. PS it was a little cold for the first half of the day, I had taken my liner out and wish I would not have, Craig and I both hand winter gloves and neck gators on, dress appropriately. Have a great ride, looking forward to the ride report with some
pictures. Craig, take it easy on my bike it is getting too many miles on it.

Might join you on my 990 which will have enough range only if I carry my aux tank.
What time is departure. Where to meet?
For Big Jer. You probably don't care, but tell your wife/girlfriend that Bickelton calls itself the Bluebird capital of the world.
There is one general store and one restaurant, the "Bluebird Cafe" . One or the other will be open on Sunday. Probably the cafe. A good place to eat breakfast or lunch. Popular stop for motorcyclers.

im thinking about 9am at the Albertsons parking lot on Gage and Leslie RD in Richland.
that way if someone drives thier truck theres a place for them to park.

Sounds like fun - I'll be out of town or I would try to go too.

i'm not gonna make this one, as work seems to be taking priority this weekend over the playtime try for the next one.

im looking for a head count for the ride tomorrow, it looks like im the only one going, so if any one going please let me know.....thanks.

I'm only a "maybe". I have a prior commitment that I thought would be finished by Friday but now looks like it may extend all the way through Sunday.

Dang it. I can't make it tomorrow. My prior commitment has oozed over into Sunday so it's no go for me.
