Alaska 2011 interest

New to the forum. Posted this same message in the Members Rides. Probably should have posted here. I'm learning. Anyway, I am planning to ride to Fairbanks/Deadhorse this summer. Planning 16-21 days so that I can see some of the sites rather than seeing them at 70 mph. I ride a BMW 1200 GSA. Plan to do some camping. Some fishing. My riding partner may not be able to make ths trip. Not looking to go solo, so I am seeing if other members are planning somthing like this. Respond if you are and will see where it leads to.

im going in june, but im going solo. I could share a six pack at a campground somewhere though if ya want. Ill be at the D2D too.

Did you make the trip? I had to postpone by departure until June 25th because of work, so I did not make D2D. I did make it out to Deadhorse, The Denali Hwy, The Taylor, The Top of World Hwy, Campbell Hwy and portion of the Dempster. With the 1 week delay it looked like I was right behind the rain. Was a great trip and had no problems.
What to plan something for the East Coast now.

Interested in your pics and story if you have one Chris and/or Builderdan. I'm not going to read that thread thou.

That is correct! I went with 2 others, and we returned on the 25th, left on the 10th. I think it rained every day for us, some days just pissing all day.

We made it to Inuvik (on the Dempster) for lunch, had to turn around and get our asses home, we had a lot of ground to cover. We did all the stuff you did, but not the haul road, did the Dempster instead. It was 6200 miles, and would have been nice to have an extra week or two.
I think I am gonna do shorter trips for a while, gonna do the Selkirks Rally in 3 weeks, a little more relaxed.

I don't know how to post pics here, and we didn't take a lot anyway, we had to get our 400 miles in every day!
