| Yes, that is some reallly nice country. I think that is one of my favorite routes for dual sporting, makes for a long day leaving from my house but well worth it. | |

| I've done that ride! I want to do it again. The first time I didn't know where I was. | |

Is there any overnight camping besides the Shilo Inn's affordable excellence? It would be fun to make this trip an over nighter. | |

| Seems to me that there is some campgrounds but I have no information on them. I know that during hunting season the place is crawling with hunters though and it looks like RV heaven. | |

| I plan on putting a trip together this summer to Troy. This time I am thinking about takine two days and riding around the back side of the Wallowa's and overnighting in Baker City, or better yet camping out at Richland Or near Brown Lee res. Then maybe riding through Sumpter/Granite area, down the north fork of the John Day river and out to Pendleton and home. That would make for a long ride even spread over two days though. My friends on the DR650's would need lots of extra gas too. We'll have to see how the spring melt goes before making any real plans though. | |
