Strange road signs down under

My wife Amber and I just got back from a 2 week vacation to Australia. While in Sydney we rented a 1200GS and set out on a 3 day ride I had set up through BikeRoundOz. It was a self guide ride of about 150 miles per day and although not that far what amazing roads and scenery. Day one took us through the Blue Mountains and ended up at Jerimuda Guest House which was great B&B located on the Hawksbury river. The next morning we set out on Putty Road, more great narrow twisty roads through the mountains eventually dropping us in to Hunter Valley wine country where we had a stay at the Pokolbin Village Resort for the night. The next morning it was off to Sydney but not before another 100 plus miles of great Wisemans Ferry road to Wisemans Ferry. Getting back to Sydney during rush hour was quite a change but we managed to get the bike back after being lost in the grid lock city with 5 minutes to spare.

That's awesome! I loved Australia when I was there. That looks like a ton of fun! How did you like riding on the opposite side of the road? Australia was just different enough that it always felt just slightly wrong but not unusual! haha

The wrong side of the road thing was weird, every time I went around a blind corner and a car was coming it made for a butt pucker. Even when your riding in the left lane and they are in the right is just didnt feel right. Was a great ride though on some amazing twisty narrow roads.

Man, that is too cool. Thanks for sharing the photos. Australia one of the places I definitely want to visit someday.

What does a bike rental cost there?

My wife and I went to the Blue Mnts a little over two years ago. We have the same pic's of the area. I had no time for any riding but had a blast.

I am super jealous. My dream is to take 3 or 4 months and ride from one side of Australia to the other with minimal money. When I run low, just do odd jobs for food and fuel. Oh the envy... More pics?

Ya, 3 days was not enough time at all but it was a great teaser. Just don't stop at Wolfe Creek if you do the coast to coast ride lol

I should stop lurking around. too many ideas and future plans keep formulating.......
