| I came upon a 2007 KTM Super Enduro in very early Sept. Aftder 47 years of Jap bikes I bit the Euro bullet. Heres what I know so far:
1) It is a big assed bike for a dirt bike (the term "dirt bike" used inthe most liberal manner) in every aspect... weight, height, power.
2) Came with FMF cans, inserts gone..replaced with spark arrestor inserts. Much quieter and safe up in the woods.
3) It gets (surprisingly) 40mpg but...
4) every fill up I can see the knobs on the Karoo get shorter
5) knobbies suck on pavement, but the Karoo gets smoother as it wears out. I have 600 miles on it.. it will never see 1000!
6) Honda bend Tusk Chub bars made it so much more comfy. I had to whittle the stupid hard KTM grips off sliver at a time and replace with cut-to-length Oury Street Grips, which are the world's BEST dirt grips
7) 16 tooth front sprocket was the best $55 I could spend. It was waaay overgeared slug , now a jet! Hope this pic comes thru ok. | |

| Hey look, a new avatar for me! I finally figured the process (luck) out! That big assed heavey expensive KTM isnt going to see much hard trail duty as it is truthfully my Vmax replacement bike. Moslty pavement and occasional forest service roads is its gig. My XR650 Honda (now wearing Metzler Unicross knobs) is for anything more gnarly than the above. I have one crunchy knee I want to preserve so a lot of tough trial riding isnt my main goal. I live near SIlver Theme Park, about 18 miles north of Coeurd'Alene. Do you have roots pr history in this area? | |

| The hiwway constructioni s supposed to be over by Nov. 1. Overpasses arent finished and there is no left hand turn lane on my road..never will be.. so still a risky deal. They spent a bizzillion bucks and didnt include a turn lane at my road...crazy! Almost got rear ended by a semi last week.. in my pick up. Will really be scary sitting on a bike waiting for a break inthe oncoming traffic. | |
