Good day gentleman! It's been a while, but I'm still riding DRZ, and still local. I just received my Clark 3.9 gallon tank and some levers. Next in line will be different foam in the 2x4-like seat, new rubber and some soft bags. Any suggestions on tires? I've been reading conflicting reviews..... I'm a 70% street rider, but won't mind replacing tires every 2500 miles. My friend said the D606 only gets him about 1500, which is too bad, cause I really like the knob pattern.

It's that time of year, and I have dual sport on the brain!

Regards,

-Chris

I really like the Shinko 705 and they are about a 70/30 tire. Great on pavement and surprisingly good on dirt, as long as it is dry.

Thanks fro the input Pete! I checked them out whilst at the local shop the other day. They look like a pretty legit street shoe. I'm thinking more along the lines of DOT knobby. I don't hit the dirt as much as I'd like, but when I do, it would be great to have something that'll hook up.

I found a good upholstery shop up North by my girlfriends house that'll re-do my seat for super cheap! I think I'm going to have the guy take an inch out of the height too.... I'm kinda short at 5'9". Ha ha. After that, I won't have a whole lot to focus on this spring as far as mods go. Just some levers and a, tank bag and rear rack big

Maxxis Desert IT. Lasts 3k easy. It's the tire I run.. lasts longer than a D606... grips better too.

That's actually the one I've been eye balling thumb Looks like it would do good in most types of terrain. How does it do cornering on the pavement?
