| I am looking at new tires. Looking at the Dunlop 606 or 908. Most of my riding is 70% dirt, I just hit the blacktop when needed. Any thoughts good or bad about these tires or any others?
Thanks, Ralph | |

| dunlop 606 is supposed to be a real good tire, haven't tryed them my self, i've got some Kenda dual sport tires right now an i like them pretty well as an all around tire. don't have to many miles on them, but seem to be wearing good. i've run bridgestone, chieng shin [junk] perille, avon distanza[ by far the longest lasting ] there all good when there new. the kendas feel a little wierd on the pavement but not scary, just takes a little gettin used to, the rear is pretty flat, not much radius to the tread and knobs are pretty tall, but the best thing of all is there cheap! | |

| A big vote here for the 606's This is my favorite dual sport tire, hooks up great, wears great and is remarkably good on the street. They have pretty stiff side walls that make for excellent pinch resistance. I installed a new set before our Eastern Oregon ride last summer and still have the same set on the bike, I'll install a fresh set again before this summers ride. Hodakaguy | |

| I'm running Pirrelli MT21, great in dirt, but are not lasting. I doubt I'll get 1200 miles out of the rear before the center and secondary knobs are worn off. I will say they have a nice hard carcass. When I went to fill up the gas tank this spring I rode about ten miles, 35mph and didn't notice I had 6psi in the front and not readable in the rear after sitting all winter. It was squishy, thats what made me check the pressures when I got home. Glad I didn't go out on the highway for the old spring shake down. This is nice to know in case I have to ride out on a flat sometime this summer A couple people I know use Kenda and like them. I will be ordering a Kenda K270 for the rear (Picture) and hope it will make my commuting a little smoother but not give up forest service road traction. My MT21 front looks like it will last another season and I like having a tire in the front that will stick on gravel and dirt roads. griz | |

| I just ordered this tire for the rear. Pirelli eXTRa Medium-Hard terrain. 120/100-18 I didn't want anything DOT approved, barely hit the road, ever. We'll have to see how it holds up. | |

| I had a 908 on my 950- it was a little skitterish on the pave, but the knobs lasted all day. | |

| I just ordered the D606's the other day. I probably won't install them for a month because the tires I have still got some life, but can't wait to use them. Real knobbies, yay! | |

| I like my 606s, but the front doesn't hook up as well as other tires I've had (non DOT though).
I have about 1250mi and 45% on the rear, front is 80%!! These last forever! I don't rip it up though since they're on a XR250 so that hellps. Probably 1/3 street 1/3 gravel 1/3 trail as far as use. They don't chunk much.
I just ordered some chen shing or whatever dual sport tires from bikebandit.com for $50 a pair! Cheap! They look pretty good for summer fire road burners for my spare wheels. The sidewals aren't as thick as my D606s but they are decent. I'll be mountng them soon | |

| I am sure this is an isolated incident since I know people who have been running D606's for year, however the rear of my set disintegrated in less than 100 miles. Problem in the molding process I'm sure as the front has been holding up fine. I got the defective rear replaced under warrantee and replaced it with a similar Metzler. I like the idea of the D606 but if I had put that tire on before a long trip it would have left me stranded. | |
