Dual Sport Poker Run August 15th in Darrington 50+ miles

hey guys there is a poker run for us in Darrington 50+ miles should be a fun one.. i will be attending this .. it is the weekend before the planned ride in the naches... so who wants to do a double header?

I dunno, kinda a ways off and there isn't much info. But, any ride is always a possibility. Let's get through these next couple months first, I'd rather go to Naches anyway.

sounds good. i have not done any riding up there so it will be new to me, how ever everyone who is going should PM For my phone number or pm their phone numbers so when it gets closer i will call everyone or u guys can call me so we can all meet introduce ourselves in person

I think I might have to check this one out. Need to figure out where they start. BlueGrass Park??? Is this just a follow the arrows and people ride or GPS, roll chart, map find your way kind of thing?

Saw some of the Skagit folks up at Walker last weekend and they said the long ride will be a little over 100 miles. Thats about all the info I got. I think they are putting together a roll chart. See ya there T-Low?

So...Does anyone know if there is a lot of single track or fire roads? Refueling points?

Is this a secret ride? You think the club would put more info on thier site and flyer, or am I just missing something?

okay I called and here is the scoop...

There will be two diffrent loops, a long (100 mile) and a short (50 mile). It sounds like the 50 mi is all fire road and no pavement. The 100 mi loop has about 30 mi of pavement and is seperate from the short loop. The way it sounded was there was no single track, more of a scenic ride, just fire roads and limited pavement.

There will be oppurtunities to refuel but maybe limited oppurtunities. ( my phone was cutting in an out)

There will be free camping! I didnt ask if it was just tent camping or rv's as well

They havn't done gps for the course so roll charts are the navigational tool of choice.

I think we have to make that one. It sounds like a good way to get to know that area better and to see you FF's again. I'll probably show up with the Crew (Husaberg J and KTM KJ on MWoodlief's old 300 exw...although I guess KJ would take his DRZ on this ride.).

I just talked to Reinrod and he said that there is a possibility of a complete rambo rider showing at the poker run....maybe.....at least Reinrod and myself, maybe shane and brad as well. Anyone else for sure going??

My plan, head down late morning on saturday to darrington and camp out. Maybe a couple of beers could be involved saturday night and come home sunday after the ride.

Well that definitely ups the ante. We these new developments, I'm absolutely 80% sure that I'm 50/50 on this one.

I like the idea, I just can't keep track of my shhhhhhhedule that far out...so I don't want to commit yet. Maybe this weekend I'll have some time in Chelan to go over me little shhhhhedule. If you guys are camping, it would be a good shake out run for my old RV and new old truck (but I like camping in the van better so i'll probably just take that)

So got to thinking we will probably need to have some of these dam maps on us that we are now required to carry now by the usfs for the poker run....

my parents live in woolley and im planning on heading their this friday or saturday. perhaps i could pick us up some maps... how many guys we got up their that need them? last time i went to get some they had no clue what i was talking about... nothing better then me telling these yahoos the new laws that they are suppose to be enforcing!

That would be sweet if you make it to wooley!! I suppose that as many as you can get would be good.... (maybe a dozen)

I am not sure on the time yet but the camping sounds like it will be at the festival grounds...
