New member in Bellingham

Hello,

Saw a link from a PeteN95 post on ADV and thought I'd check out the site. I feel like I already search too many forums as it is, but the RR of Hodakaguy thru eastern Oregon made me consider signing up here too. Sorta like Goldy Locks I feel like ADV can be a little bit too big sometimes, and BDSR (http://dualsportmoto.ning.com/forum) might be a little too small sometimes...so we'll see.

I don't ahve a lot of riding experience (edit: apparently I don't have a lot of experience at typing, either ). Irode as a kid for a couple years on an XR75 in the mid 70's. Quit at 10 yrs old.
Got a Honda CBX when I was 19, sold it when I was 21 and that was all.

Then last year my brother in law let me ride his GasGas and thats all it took. I bought it off him, and he got a leftover '08 Husaberg and we've been ridin together ever since.

So after a 35 yr break from dirt biking, I gotta admit; I'm a little suprised by how much attention these things require in terms of cleaning and general maintainence. Not like a white water kayak where you get home and throw it off the roof rack onto the lawn and leave it there until next time. Sheesh.


I'm still learning, still acquiring the necessary gear, brother in law still smacks me in the back of the head because of my lousy mechanical abilities, but usually pretty eager to get out.

Will be getting out to Walker Valley tomorrow (Thursday july 8 4:30 pm main staging area, if anyone wants to go. I'll most likely be hauling the bike on my Astro van; look for that and a Husaberg 550 (white Dodge caravan with trailer) and a KTM 300. All skill levels welcome.

welcome T low i live in anacortes, and ride at walker couple times a month... we should get together and go riding soon. also if u are insterested im heading over to winthrop the 16 th 17th and 18th if u want to head over i will be exploring forest roads up there.

Did you ride Walker Valley with Jackazz Tim? We invited him down to Captiol Forest about a month ago and he was already booked at Walker with somebody.
Sounds like fun Chris6, but my July is packed. If my plans fall thru I'll try to give you a call. Like everybody, we love that area.



Join in if you are at Walker tomorrow at 4:30. We usually go to Skagit River Brewery for debriefing but may actually venture to new territories soon.

i am working over at shaw island and i do not get back into two until 7pm... dang ferries. i have fridays sat and sundays off
