| Subject: New ATV Hands On Course required in OR for Kids 16 and under! 1/11/2011, 4:19 am | |
| Required hands-on training for youth in 2012 Beginning January 1, 2012, youth under 16 will also be required to have hands-on training to ride quads or motorcycles on public lands. After that date, a certificate of completion can be printed when they finish the on-line safety course which will give them a 180-day instructional period while they seek training. Please do not wait for 2012 to get your child into training! Call the ATV Safety Institute at 800-887-2887 or the Motorcycle Safety Foundation at 866-260-1783 now. There are nearly 35,000 youth that will have this training requirement and classes will be full. Thought I would pass this along. If you haven't done so already you might want to go to the Oregon web site and take their BS test to get your Oregon ATV endorsement card, soon everyone will be required to have one in Oregon!
