| So a friend called me up and asked me if I wanted his 73 cl350. I said sure how much? "Oh a six pack of beer would do it." Sold! I thought that price was a little on the low side so I got him a mini keg of Heineken instead. Not too bad of shape really. The bike was from the Southwest so all of the chrome is almost perfect. So first thing was to see if it would run. I gave it a good tune up and a carb rebuild and she fired right up. Now I had to decide just exactly what i was going to do with this thing. I always wanted a cafe racer but I liked the scrambler idea too. Hmmm. Next thing I know I was dragging home a second cl. Two is always better than one right? This one is a 71 and the guy said it had a flat cam so I got it for a song and a dance too. It turns out the only thing wrong with this one was gummed up carbs. Sweet now I can have a cafe racer and a scrambler. First I am going the do the Scrambler. So I started swapping things around to figure out what I wanted it to look like. I ordered some vintage style mx bars Polished a bunch of chrome and mounted up some new rubber. I also ditched the turn signals and huge stock tail light. This is the mock up of how I decided I wanted it to look other than the headlight. I am going to do something different there. So now she is stripped down and I need to cut off the center stand and passenger peg brackets then the frame can get paint. Time to get the engine spiffed up and put new seals in the forks. This is the point I am at now. As time, money and ambition allow me to progress I will keep you updated. Oh and here is a pic of the cafe racer version that the second cl will become complete with home made clipons and a Benelli fuel tank. | |

| Its not so much the headlight itself but the mounting ears I dont like. That is what will change. | |

| How come I never run into any deals like that? I would've gladly forked over a keg-o-beer for that bike. Nice score | |

| [b] Looking forward to how your cafe racer comes out! I used to have a really cool 1980's MotoMorini 250 twin that I cafe'd out with a Rickman fairing! Later it became my first race bike at the then SIR track.. Of course I wish I had that bike now right? I notice a lot more cafe'd Japanese bikes now days, few affordable alternatives are left for doing cool projects. Rock on dude!
My red MotoMorini....and my brother working on his MotoMorini 3 1/2....notice the 80's hair too! Seattle, at our house on 38th St, Rainier Valley.

| That MotoMorini is a sweet little unit. You don't see many of those around. When I am done with the Hondas I will be looking for something a little more exotic to tinker on. | |

| Slowly. Just got a nice set of 35mm forks off of ebay. So now I need to throw the triple clamps in the Bridgeport and machine them out from 33 to 35mm. Then I need to determine what rear shocks I want to graft on. Still lots to do but I will get there eventually. I'll probably order the parts I need to finish the engine up this month. | |
