A small group of us headed to Hover Park today after work for a quick ride. Conditions were excellent for Hover, we've had enough rain lately that the poof dust was pleasantly absent. We all had a great time.
Here's a few pics of the ride.
We started off by playing in the hills a bit, here Trever and Alan are descending down a hill.
Alan crossing the stream
Trever and Conner playing in the Stream
Heading down to the mud flats to play a little
Conner venturing a little to far out on the mud flats.
Alan helping Conner out of the mud's vise like grip
Trever out on the flats
This shot is looking down from the top of the big hill. The red arrow is where we headed next. There is a sunken road bed that heads out to the Island that you can ride across. Since the water level was low Conner decided to give it a try.
Conner heading across on the old road bed.
Uh Oh! Conner slipped off the road bed and into the deep water. The bike was hydro locked at this point and Conner did a great job of man handling the bike around and back up onto the road bed. Conner said the road bed had washed out on the other end leaving only a narrow section that's passable.
Dad on the way out to help.
Heading back to shore
A better shot of the old road bed, it drops off pretty steep on the sides of the old bed. Trever and Alan stood the bike up on it's rear wheel and let the water pour out the exhaust. After that it fired right back up, Sweet...back in business!
Here's a video of Conner's Crossing
Next we headed down to the rivers edge and rode some overgrown single track through the Russian olive tree's, then we popped down onto the river bank to play on the rocks and mud.
We then headed back to the hills, here Trever cruises down a section of off camber single track.
Had to throw in a shot of my trusty steed.
Climbing the big hill
And a parting shot sitting on top of the world.
Can't wait for the next ride!

You finally conned someone into crossing that road.

that was a fun day, and Conner added to the adventure. It didn't take much to get him out there. Just the thought that it could be crossed was enough for him to try. We stood the bike up on it's back wheel, let the water drain out of everywhere, and it fired over on the 5th or 6th kick! ran a little rough for a few seconds, then was good to go! the dust wasn't too bad out there today either. thanks Hodakaguy for showing us Hover park and play!

Yeah right, I've crossed it myself in the past. Conner said the road on the other side is really narrow now so it looks like the far end is getting washed out more than it was. Where were you?
