I left for camp on Thur around 1pm, YamWOW!, Relaytech, Craig2211 and Mamacone had left earlier that morning. I arrived at camp to find a makeshift maint shop in full swing.
Relaytech installing new chain/sprockets.
YamWOW! wiring up power to his GPS
Craig2211 had recently picked up a used 300 smoker and it came with this tank installed (anyone know what brand this tank is?). Craig thought it needed makeshift nipples
Well at least he won't get board when we stop for a minute on the trail
Mamacone's smoker....Alan had only two rules for the trip, always stop next to a tree so he'd have a kick stand and always stop on a hill so he didn't have to kick
Craig and Alan had rode a small loop earlier in the day before I arrived, Alan decided to play tag with a branch and lost.
Friday morning we left camp and did a great single track loop, here's a couple shots from the GoPro Footage
While out on the loop Perry's thermo-switch failed and he started boiling over, he wired the fan in the ON position so it ran the whole time which fixed the problem out on the trail. Once back at camp he installed his spare switch.
Craig back at camp....takin it easy.
Panoramic of camp
Oring arrived at camp and after everyone was rested up we headed out for a short ride to Ravens Roost. Here Kevin is making the last climb to the top.
My bike sitting at the top
We returned to camp and had a great dinner thanks to Perry's cooking. Inconceivable arrived in the afternoon.
Saturday morning we were all ready to hit the trail. Here Joe is staying warm by the fire while everyone gets ready.
Alan fueling up the smoker. Craig's shoulder was sore from yesterdays ride so he decided to hang by camp today.
Out on the trail we came to our first big hill, lots of rocks and ruts.
Perry re-gaining his balance
Inconceivable on his first try....
Owen on his way up
Joe making the top
Kevin starting the climb...a large group of Jeeps showed up, we would be playing tag with them for a while.
After some more awesome trail we arrived at Aardvark Hill.
Jeep cresting the top of the hill
Joe giving a thumbs up to the camera as we climbs to the top (snapped from video footage so the quality sucks)
After Aardvark Hill the trail turned SUPER ROCKY! I love riding rock but this is a great place to do some damage to rims etc. Onward we go!
Kevin catching up to the pack
What lies ahead
Owen...ok I'm ready for this.
LOTS of rocks, we came to a steep hill that was solid rocks and it just kept on going.
Relaytech making the climb
Owen checking over the bike
Inspector on his way up
Joe on the trail
And a few more snaps taken from my helmet cam...the resolution sucks but it gives a good idea of how rough the trail really was.
We made it to the top of that hill and caught back up with the Jeep group again. After resting a bit we decided to head back down the hill and work our way back to camp for lunch.
This picture from the way down gives a better idea of how steep this rocky his really was.
As usual I wish I would have taken more pictures but I did get a lot of video, I'll be making up a video of highlights from the trip as soon as I get the time.
Had a great time, can't wait for next years trip
