Naches Naches09013
We did a two day trip to the Naches area in Washington State. A couple of riding buddies called and I said let's go! Naches 61865 95% of the trail was single track.

Most
of the first trail was off camber single track that was a little nerve
racking but the path was not to hard. So we hit the next trail. The
next trail was a lot harder. The trails became steeper and rockier. We
did several log crossings that just drains the energy out of you. We
worked ourselves back to base camp and called it a night.

We
woke up and moved our stiff bodies to the next trail. We were headed to
Raven's Roost. This was a microwave tower which gives a 360 view of
Mount Rainier and the Cascade mountain range.

We
ride all morning and the trail turns to a power line road about a half
mile from the top. This was one of the nastiest roads I have ridden on.
The pictures don't do it justice. The road is very steep. The bike
would kick off to one side and the bike would stop. This was very
difficult to get the bike going again. Naches 810411

We
came back down all feeling sore and welcomed the soft seats of the
truck and headed home. I love this area and can't wait to return.

Sweet!! That is also on my list of places next year. Next time lets get some video of your log crossings Naches 5543 I've been getting worse and worse at them. (seriously, im not kidding)
Also that rocky climb...I've been on some bad stuff that I turned around on. I don't think it could have been worse then yours. I'm curious how far up I could make it?lol

Seriously great pictures! That trail looked like a ton of work with all that loose, big rocks. Thanks for sharing with everyone.

Can't wait to head up there this summer. I think I'll try that route with a trials tire on the rear, should work great with all those rocks.

Great Pics!

Nice ride report Yamwow! I just noticed you did this. That pic of me on the rocks gives somewhat of an idea of the difficulty of that "road"! That was a fun trip! Can't wait for more!

Great report! Thanks for taking us along Naches Icon_sunny

How did the XR650R do in that terrain? Did you drop down to a 13 tooth sprocket?

I suppose you know there's a graded road to the top too?
