| So we went to Lake Wenatchee for the weekend for the GF's B-Day. Got there friday morning, setup camp and got the bikes warmed up. The only other people in our camp were the camp host’s and one other family at the other end of the C.G. We mainly rode gravel roads, some pavement and introduced the better half to 5 miles of singletrack goodness! After coming back from riding we decided to drive around in the truck after dinner and explore some more. I drive out onto the main road and hear a nasty vibration coming from the rear driveline…. CRAP! Rear u-joint is toast! Now, normally I carry tools and supplies to fix this sort of thing on the trail or elsewhere… I had nothing. I managed to get the front bolts of the rear driveline off with the wrenches from our bike tool kits, but couldn’t get the rear bolts to break loose, they were just trying to strip out. So I decided to hastily google O’reilleys on my phone and call them, so we hop on the bikes for a nice ride into Leavenworth, btw, it’s a really fun road! So we get to Leavenworth and my hasty google search was for an auto shop in Wenatchee… So we called it a nice ride into town instead! So Saturday morning I caught the camp host and asked him for tools, he had some, so I quickly got the rear driveline removed and we were on our way back to town for parts and a fix. $60 for a u-joint and two wrenches and $27 in labor from a local shop, I had a fresh u-joint and we were back to camp for more riding. We saw 8 or 9 deer and heard of a bear roaming around a nearby camp, never saw Yogi though. There are some great views from the higher elevation roads. The pictures don’t do it justice. Relaxing by the lake at the end of the day: The truck was so excited to be camping! Riding the backroads: Up near sugarloaf Taking it all in... "Suzi" smiling for the camera. (Yes, it has a nickname! ) | |

| Glad to hear you got the truck sorted out. Great pics of the area. We need more adv. reports on here. I should be better at posting some reports. The Lake Wenatchee area would make a great spot for a PNWDS camp out weekend. Lots of trails, dirt roads ect. Plus could drown a worm or two at Fish Lake . | |
