Didn't have enough fun last time so decided to try it again.
Left the house 1/2 hour before sun-up. This time I wore less clothing. What I should have done is put the dirt gloves in the backpack instead of wearing them while slabbing. Man that was cold! When I stopped for gas I had to huddle next to the exhaust to warm the hands.
This time I followed the road all the way to the top. Upper road past that was closed so took the lower road. That one wound around but stopped short of the lake. PUD area with signs and even a camera. Maybe you have to wait until summer to get to the lake, I don't know.
Turned around and went back. Wanted to practice log hopping, but since no one else showed up for this ride, decided to skip it. First stop after getting around the puddle.
Here's that metal bridge I got a picture of last time. It gets very slippery in the cold weather.
Came around a corner and saw this. Is that a road up there? Lets go find out.
There are these streams/waterfalls everywhere. Make for slippery going when they are over the roadway.
This one wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
With my bald tire I'm all over the place.
Here's the end. These damn roads never go as far as you would hope.
Here's a spot I came down, need to make it back over that.
My first and only get-off of the day. Also first time I had the bike pin my leg under it. Lucky the thing is so light, no biggy. I though about, what if this was a loaded down BMW or something, never would have been able to get my leg out.
Went back down and had a jeep pull over so I could pass. Flying up the road and came to another truck going the opposite way. Kind of cool. He was just putting along and had his dog out running in front of the truck. Talked to him for awhile. He said he made it about another mile up but I should be able to make it further.
I tried, but come across a creek in the middle of the road
Must have spent 20 min. trying to decide whether I wanted to go through it or not.
I actually walked through the trees seeing if I could go around. If I had a hatchet, probably could, but wouldn't be worth it. Did come across the cause of the problem thou. A beaver dam.
One last time down to the water and see how deep it is. Turns out to be just below the bottom of my airbox, (without the suspension compressed). Decided no way was I going to attempt it without someone else being there. The stick was my tapemeasure.
That was my run. Actually made it home just as it started to sprinkle. Fun times.
