| The wife told me last night I could go for a ride today. Wasn't sure at the time, but come morning and I was out of here. Headed out to the garage to get ready. Wasn't sure what to wear. On one hand I am learning and know to bundle up, on the other hand, not a cloud in the sky and sun shining. Luckily common sense prevailed and I bundled up. LEFT the house with the fuel light on. Really wish I had a better camera cause this ride turned into a little bit more then just a ride. But we will get to that later. Headed to the gas station then open road. Luckily my bike shakes at anything over 90mph cause there was a stator pulled over on the side of the highway. Didn't look like he was paying attention to me, and I also wasn't being stupid. So I got away without getting pulled over. Whew. Made it to the road head(?) and stopped to strip down a little. Didn't take any pictures in the beginning because you've seen it all before. I was really looking for something different. Also most of these pics I don't know where i was. Got sidetracked somehow and don't remember where all I took them. This is just I shot over my shoulder trying to show how rocky it is. This is where I'm going, knowing I won't make it very far with all that snow still up there. Yup, didn't make it far before hitting snow. Some buddy lost a saw? Another road that I stop at just for a picture, otherwise it really isn't holding me up. Here's a nice NON-pamnoramic shot, lol. One of these days I may figure out how to do those....probably not, I'm to lazy. (i did put the three shots in order for you thou. haha) Kept going up what could very loosely be called a road and then kept on going even after I wouldn't call it a road anymore, until I finally had to stop and continue on foot to what looked like a clearing just beyond. Got to the clearing and looked around. Kinda looked like a small waterfall a ways up. Now I'm thinking the key is still in the bike and I have my helmet and coat on...what to do? Well, I thought you guys would like to see what was up there and there was no way someone was going to follow the non-path I took and find my bike sitting there with the key in it. Didn't want to just leave my helmet and coat right there so just kept them on. Anyway, started hiking up, sweating, looking back down, hiking up some more, thinking I should really take the helmet off at least. I started thinking, nobody really knows where I am and with all these rocks it would be easy to slip and fall...so i left the helmet on. Finally got close to my destination. Man what I won't do for you guys.......... | |

| Anyway...most of these pictures didn't turn out as well as I would have hoped. I think only two of them I like. Also, I should have been taking pictures of the hike up, but didn't. I did take some on the way down though. Here is what I was aiming to get to. Getting close to everything now. Yeah, that's ice. Really need to watch my footing. I was getting a little wet taking some of these. Ice covered wood stuff Favorite picture of the day Time to go back. Still going down. Almost there.... Finally made it to the bike, turned it around and decided I would take a few pictures of the non-trail I took to get up here. That is when I smelled the sweet smell of cotton candy. OH NO, no time to take pictures, i must make it down to a clearing so I can stop... | |

| My thought was I had popped my Monster can. Guess not, they really take a beating. I've fallen on two cans now over the years and a crinkle is all I've gotten out of them. Unlike some other drinks I've had explode in my pack. Never did find out what made that smell. I know what coolant smells like, and that wasn't it. After my break took off again. Didn't take long before I hit snow again. This wasn't too bad thou. Stopped here at the top and stared for awhile, simply amazing. Plus I couldn't figure out where I had been. I know I just came from that top road awhile ba ck and I think the water fall thingy was in the middle of all that and the creek I crossed was....meh, non of it really makes any sense to me. One day I will get a GPS so I can do a topo and figure it out. Big Jer would have been proud of me, hit quite a few rocky portions and snow portions of trail, but kept soldiering on! This didn't stop me either. This started to slow me down a little though. Hopped off the bike to see how far it went and how far I have gone. Looked like there was a lot more. I kept going!! Made it to here when I decided the sun hadn't melted a trail for me. Walking back to the bike when I realized it wasn't worth going on. Stuff I had gone over And finally my last picture for the day. Bike dug in a little. What a really good day. Made it up further then I thought I would. Had way less trouble with the rocks then I did last time too. I pulled into my neighborhood with the fuel light ON. | |

| Excellent pictures, made me wish I had gone out this weekend. Unfortunately, everything is a muddy mess around here, and can't get very far. I did take the Goldwing out though, got a few road miles in.
Can't wait to get over there and ride with you, Inspector. | |

| ^I would have posted the ride but... 1.Didn't know about it until late 2.Was more of a recon-mission 3.Didn't think you would like the rockiness of the area. *Whenever the weather is nicer and you're ready to come out...saving the other run for you. | |

| Just because I didn't like that death trap of a ravine, or as I like to call it, the pit of despair, followed by the sand hill of insanity, that bigjer took us through, does not mean I don't like rocks. I would have gladly gone on that ride with you. But I understand the last minute nature of the ride. | |
