May 16th gathering in Wenatchee

This all started in the thinking of spring thread, but was a little cluttered, so I started a new one for everyone to sign up in. We will be doing a group ride on Sunday the 16th of May around the beautiful hills of Wenatchee and the surrounding area. Ride is about 75 miles with a fuel up and lunch stop in the middle. Breakfast will be at Smitty's restaurant. There is a Les Schwab right next door that people can park at if they bring their bike on a truck or trailer. We will want to meet around 9 for breakfast for those interested and then head out for the ride by 10. It was perfect last weekend, with little to no dust, just a couple of muddy crossings, and totally passable snowy sections. But the snow will be gone by the 16th, so we can take a small detour to a higher location for an incredible view of the upper valley.

So come on out for some terrific riding and general BS'ing. You will not be dissapointed!

I'm going to try to make it to this one. I don't think i have plans.

I talked to a kid at work who's interested, so we may have one more!

I'm geared to cruise around 55. Would I have trouble with the route you have planned?

You would have absolutely no problem. There is very little pavement which is mostly backroads with a few miles of highway.

There is a couple of very short highway stretches. There is plenty of room for us to stay to the side though, if anyone needs to get around us. You should definitely come along. You will have a terrific time!

And for everyone, I need to get a headcount by the first part of next week to make sure there is enough space for our group reserved at the restaurant.

i'm in as you already know and one of my delivery trk drivers who lives in wenatchee an has a 650 like mine says he will also be there, an possibly a friend of mine from here, if he doesn't have to work, an possibly another guy from wenatchee.

unless something unforeseen comes up I'll be there.

Of course I knew you were coming jer, it wouldn't be a group ride unless you were there! That's great some more guys might show. We should have a great group.

Ol guy, glad to hear you can make it as well. Gotta have that hot rod green machine of yours along for good diversity.

hope the weather is good, because it cost me $5 in quarters at the car wash to get my bike clean after the last ride you took me on ''w''.

Hey man, that wasn't me! It was Hodaka, and he nearly killed me and the hoff meister. LOL!
Anyway, I have a pressure washer here the next time that happens.

Brother, if it gets you over here, I'll make you breakfast. But that means leaving your place at like 4:30 in the morning. You up for that? LOL. Besides, Smitty's has pretty kickass food. You could always make it the night before, and I will throw some grub up on the grill!

You better make it! I changed it from Saturday to Sunday just for you.

I'm super stoked about this ride, I even bought new pants today just for it (and because I'm too fat to fit into my other ones)! As for your official head count, add 2, myself and a co-worker who is about 99% sure he's going.

I lubed my cables and throttle tube today. Still need to find the time to go get a new hydration pack.

dont need a hydration pack, you can just drink out of the creek's.

Hey--If I can get out of another $%&*^&*(*&%^!! thing I have scheduled,I will come. Here's my question I have a Yamaha xt225 with 14t fromt sprocket (55mph) and a 650 KLR which goes like crazy but is a little on the heavy side for trails. Which is best for the planned ride? -Hemmi

either one should work, i ride a DR650, so i think you will be ok with the beast ! but there will only be short highway stretches, like "W" said there is room to let people around. the speedlimit is only 60 mph anyway !

I'm dying to go on this ride, I just hope I can get my cam tensioner upgrade done in spokane on time saturday so I can come up sunday for the fun. After our last ride with the klr, I feel any thing less will be awesome.
