| it will be dirt road. dont know how nasty it is up there do to all the rain we have been getting. some of the roads can get pretty rough. i realy dont have a game plan, was just wanting to get out and ride. do some exploring. its been a couple years since i have been up jump off ! and even then we didnt even come out were we wanted to. (ok we kinda got lost) but i have a GPS now ! probably head back to town around 1:00 or 2:00.
the palasades,i know you can come out at soap lake (or some wear over there), but i have never done it.

| I'm pretty sure that after all this rain, the Jump-Off area is going to be nasty. A co-worker and I are headed out to sagebrush country, Palisades/Alstown etc. tomorrow. Yes, you can go up Palisades and come out at Soap Lake or Ephrata, it's a nice ride. Maybe up Badger Mtn road, through Alstown to Ephrata? I'd rather go out thataway than up into the mud, as my riding skilz in mud are nonexistant and the 990 is too heavy too pick up often. Breakfast at Smitty's?

ETA: A friend just called, took his Jeep up past Beehive. Said there was still snow in the corners.

| slippery mud an 990 are not a good combo, my tires are more of a road tread but do good on dirt roads. in mud the front is down right scary. it's raining here right now, but tomorrow is supposed to be fairly decent according to that lieing s.o.b. of a weather man. what time would you be leaving, an from where?? if the weather doesn't look to bad in thr a.m. i would be up for a 990 trip.takes me about 2 an a half hours to get to wenatchee, so don't make it to early. | |

| We had lunch in Ephrata about 2pm and I got back to Cashmere at 4:30 or so, comoing back across Sagebrush Flats and down the Palisades. We didn't make it all the way to Soap Lake though. Jer took pics and will probably post them, I took all of one pic and might post it later, but it's a dupe of his.

| yes, nice pics. time was the limiting factor for me today. if i did over 300 miles on the DR, i think my ass would become one with the seat. and that wouldnt be pretty ! thanks for the pics i only took 1 and it wasnt even a cool one. | |

| We went out of East Wenatchee towards Quincy, then north up Trinidad Canyon to Sagebrush Flats Road, dropped into Ephrata for lunch. Back westbound across Sagebrush Flats, then down Palisades Canyon and back through East Wenatchee. Rod lives there, Jer and I rode to the north end bridge across the Columbia. I went home to Cashmere, Jer stayed north to Oroville. If we'd gotten an earlier start I was going to take us up to Banks Lake for lunch, but we didn't leave East Wenatchee until noon. Rod and I were both hung over after an oyster-and-beer binge Saturday night, with whiskey for dessert. Ooog. Jer's right, weather was great. A few more degrees would have been ok, but I was never cold and we didn't get rained on: Good day for this spring! I saw one bunch of deer on the westbound leg. In the picture with the two 990s, that's Jer's in front (with the bags on) and me on mine in back. Rod was on his Honda 650, visible in some of the pics. Big Jer, nice meeting you!

| That looks fun, I love it out in the Palisades and Moses Coulee. I wonder how comfortable I would be doing that on my 525, maybe ok if I stuff some egg crate foam in my shorts, those EE super soft seats are only good for so long... I may try that if it ever stops raining! | |
