Interest in Alaska 2011

Hi, I am a newer menber to this forum located in Central Washington. I am planning to ride to Fairbanks/DeadHorse summer of 2011. Plan to take 16-21 days so can enjoy some of the sites. Riding a BMW 1200 GSA. Some camping but not oposed to a motel if weather is a problem. My riding partners may be dropping out of the plans, so if interested in talking about this please respond. We'll see where it may to.

As of now I am wide open. Will see how work schedule comes into plan as time gets closer. If I try to make the D2D event, I believe happening around June 23rd, would get out of here about 5 day prior.
I believe close to your departure. Have been getting bike and equipment in order as money allows. Have put together a schedule for duration and items to see for the trip up, but think i want to leave the return mostly wide open and see what happens, maybe just plan a route. Have you made this trip before? How many days are you planning for the trip? What are your projected routes?

r u going to be riding the xr 250?

ah ok. I am pretty much winging it . Going to camp pretty much the whole time. unless the weather is crap, then I'll get a few hotel days. I'll take the xr650l. I was going to take the 250, but I came across a good deal on a 650.

I'm heading north july 1st. Not sure how far up I'll get but need to be back local in about 2 weeks. Riding a GS camping most the way!
