| What's a 1991 KTM250 D/XC worth. It's unique looking but at 20years old, even if everything has been gone thro, new top end, it's got to be less then $1000 doesn't it?

Isn't a 400 to much for me/trails?? Thought I wanted a 200/250 2stroke?

| The 400exc is a really fun and easy to ride bike, I think easier and more forgiving than a 250 2 stroke. I have rode with ya and have no doubt you would like it. I imagine the guy is gettin a SH*@ load of interest on the bike, hope he calls ya back and the bike isnt thrashed. | |

| Funny how the ones I don't want get back to me and the ones I do....I miss
This is the response for the dxc
Hey Kevin ya $750 is a little low, already had an offer for $800. Here's what I can do, just noticed last week left fork seal is leaking I was going to replace it but if you want it as is, plus I would swap protapers for stock alum bars I would let it go for $975. Look got it under 1K:-) Seriously it's not perfect but pretty confident it's one of the nicest $1000 bike you will find. I have gone through everything, starts 1-2 kicks every time. Let me know if your interested.

| Tom...sent you a PM..the more i think about it the more i want a 2 stroke.(?)
Anyway, response is... "Hey I got like 3 people looking at it today that live In the area so maybe later tonight if I still got it I can hit you up" You weren't kidding about the interest.
*told him i wanted a guarantee he wouldn't sell it out from under me if I made the trip over to look at it.

| how in the heck did he do that?? Tough call, even at $1500 I would want to ride it around the block to see the tranny work and such. Tough call, how much for a hub I wonder. Sure didnt mention that in his ad. | |

| Looks like you can get a new warp9 rear set up for about 375 with rim and spokes. I could see a $1000 and buy a new wheel, maybe find a used hub. Folks do bling out there bikes with tallon and the like. Still would like to know what happened to that hub. from the pics the rim and spokes look ok but its only a part of it in the pic. | |

| Couldn't you just order a stock replacement hub and save a lil $$? There's gotta be one floating around fleaBay?
Don't compromise and say, "well I can have it RIGHT now, but it's not perfect." Be patient and the right bike will find you :D

Stock replacement hubs from KTM are not very cheap and a good spoke set will run at least $100 and if you have to have somebody lace it it would be cheaper to find a used wheel. Nice thing about KTM's is that they did not change the rear wheel very often over the years plus a 2001 and up husaberg wheel will fit also.
The damage to the hub was more than likely due to an over tightened chain. With KTM's you have to run the chains with more slack than what would look normal for other bikes. Their rear wheels are cast very thin and light to save weight plus they only run 1 bearing on the drive side where other manufactures will use 2. What will happen is if the chain is to tight it will break the bearing housing off the wheel and now you are being towed back to the truck with your wheel flopping around on the axle which is problely no doubt what happened to this guy. That bike looks mostly stock and could be a good buy if he will come down on the price a little. The RFS motors are damn near Honda durable.
